<p>3. Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) e.g. Fish Oils Or Flax Seed Oils</p>
<p>It is interesting to know that around 80% of the US population are deficient in essential fatty acids!</p>
<p>Essential fatty acids are found in unsaturated fats and help boost the release of testosterone and growth hormone, which leads to substantial muscle growth. They also help protect the joints and bones from damage and aid recovery time.</p>
<p>When buying, the best source of essential fatty acids is either Flax seed oil supplements (vegetarian option) or fish oil supplements.</p>
<p>4. A Set Of Multi-Vitamins</p>
<p>Getting the right balance of vitamins and minerals is essential when it comes to muscle growth. They can help in transportation of protein around the body, and also in the release of muscle growing hormones etc.</p>
<p>So if you are finding it hard to get enough vitamins or minerals in your normal food, it is important you get yourself a decent set of multi-vitamins!</p>
<p>5. Creatine</p>
<p>Creatine is naturally found in your body. But the depletion of it stops you training longer and completing more reps in a set. So its presence, means you can do more reps and that equates to higher muscle growth! In addition, creatine also pulls fluid into the cells of your muscle fibers, which makes them look bigger (this process is known as volumization).</p>
<p>So this is good for muscle gain, and looking more muscular but also breaking out of plateaus. However, be warned, too much creatine has been said to have bad side effects, so as much as it is great for muscle gain, I suggest you take this carefully and drink loads of water when you&#8217;re on it.</p>

<p>Glutamine is found in the body naturally, and helps deal with stresses you put on your body through weight training.</p>
<p>Sometimes though there isn&#8217;t enough and you take longer to recover from a workout! Glutamine as supplement can help there, and improve your recovery times!</p>

<p><strong>&gt; NUTRITION</strong></p>
<p>The main area where you’re likely to need the most help is in your nutrition. So let’s look at what you need to do.</p>
<p>First you need to work out how many calories you use in a day, this is dependent on how active you are. To give you an indication, it is likely to be around 2500-3500 calories per day, if you are working out between 3-4 times per week.</p>
<p>You want to then consume around 500 calories more than what you use in a day. This requires you to count calories. You should consume these calories by eating 5-6 meals per day.</p>
<p>In addition to all that, you want to eat more carbohydrates. Eat things like wholemeal rice, wholemeal bread, bananas, beans etc. This will reduce muscle breakdown, so you keep the muscle you want on!</p>
<p>Also increase your protein intake, with foods like grilled chicken breast (skinless), turkey breast, tuna etc and get in some casein protein shakes.</p>
<p>Doing all of this can really help you with mass growth!</p>
<p><strong>&gt; WORKOUT</strong></p>
<p>With your workout routine, you want to avoid cardio at all costs, and just focus on weightlifting.</p>
<p>With weightlifting, add 1 set per exercise where you choose a weight, which causes you to tire out after doing between 2-6 reps. Then for the rest of the sets, choose a weight where you get exhausted in 6-10 reps.</p>
<p>This overall is great for muscle gain, and also will help improve your muscle gain potential!</p>
<p><strong>&gt; PRACTICAL DAY TO DAY LIFE</strong></p>
<p>With most hardgainers running around loads, you need to slow yourself down and make time for relaxation to do the simple things in life like lounging in bed or watching television.</p>

Keeping a record of what you do and how you do it is vital to bodybuilding success. I think keeping a journal is one of the best things I&#8217;ve done to help myself consistently improve. If you keep track of what you&#8217;ve done in the past, it will be easier for you to see what works for you. You can then repeat these actions to insure your future success.

I&#8217;ve never understood why people want to come to the gym time after time, repeating exactly what they&#8217;ve done before. That is not progress, my friend.

In order to improve and make gains, your training must be progressive in some manner. <b>You can make progress 3 different ways:</b>
</p>
<ol class="btxt2">
<li>Do more weight than the previous session</li>
<p> </p>
<li>Do more reps with the same weight</li>
<p></p>
<li>Do more work within a set time frame</li>
</ol>
<p class="btxt2">
If you don&#8217;t remember exactly what you did in your previous training sessions, how do you expect to exceed it?

Tips on How To Keep a Good Journal
</p>
<ol class="btxt2">
<li>Write down the time of day you worked out.</li>
<li>Write down how much weight you used in your exercises and the number of reps. </li>
<li>Write down how the movements felt, i.e. &#8220;50s are too light.&#8221; </li>
<li>Write down how you looked and what was going on in your mind. </li>
<li>Write down what you wore or what music you listened to.</li>
<li>Write down what you ate and when you ate it.</li>
<li>Write down how you looked when you woke up, went to sleep, etc.</li>
<li>Write down how much cardio you did.</li>
<li>Write down how much you weigh.</li>
<li>Write down the other aspects of you life i.e., if you had a good day, a bad day, it was raining, you had a fight with your girlfriend. This will help you attribute outside factors into your performance in the gym.</li>
</ol>
<p class="btxt2">
Let&#8217;s suppose you had a bad workout on February 1st and you can&#8217;t figure out why since your diet and supplementation were the same as your last training session. If you see an entry in your journal that you got a bad grade on a test that morning, you might find the reason your training sucked that day was that your head wasn&#8217;t into it. This would stop you from radically changing your training, diet or supplementation based on bad information.

		I have one question for you. What is your post-workout nutritional regimen? </p>

If you answered &#8220;nothing,&#8221; you are cheating yourself out of results that are rightfully yours. You may be wasting as much as 50% of your effort in the gym by not maximizing your post-workout nutrition!
</p>
<p>
When you exercise, your body burns carbohydrates for energy and breaks down your muscle tissue (especially if you are weight training). Immediately after a workout, the body has an enhanced ability to utilize nutrients such as glucose (sugar) and protein (your body&#8217;s main building blocks) in order to rebuild and recover from your exercise.
</p>
<p>
What this essentially means is that your body is turbocharged and ready to grow! This period of power lasts for approximately four hours after a workout, hence the name &#8220;Four-Hour Window of Opportunity.&#8221;
</p>
<p>
Taking in nutrients immediately after exercise helps you to recover faster and feel better after a workout. This can help you to not only gain muscle faster, but also keep your metabolism fueled so that you lose fat at a faster rate too!
</p>
<p>
But what happens if you don&#8217;t eat immediately following a workout? Let me put it this way: it&#8217;s definitely a situation you want to avoid.
</p>
<p>
First, your body starts breaking down muscle tissue in undamaged areas of your body in order to get raw materials to help repair the areas you just worked. Over time, this will result in a loss of muscle from your whole body.
</p>
<p>
Stress hormones in the body (primarily a hormone called cortisol) speed this process along. The stress hormones are produced because working out is a stress on the body &#8211; it&#8217;s a totally natural but results-stopping reaction. How do you control the effects of cortisol? You eat as soon as you can.
</p>
<p>
But what do you eat after a workout to maximize your results? Both protein and carbohydrates are important for fast recovery.
</p>

<p>Protein &#8211; Immediately following a workout (within a few minutes of completion) take in some protein. The easiest and best way to do this is in the form of a protein powder (<a href="http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3807266-10510634?url=http://bodybuilding.com/store/whey.html" target="new">whey</a> is an excellent choice), though a food source such as milk will do.

<p>
Taking protein gives your body something to rebuild with instead of tearing down its own muscle tissue for raw materials. Do not take protein right before a workout as it will just sit in your gut and possibly cause bloating. Try to get about 30 to 40 grams of protein in as soon as you can after you&#8217;re done.</p>
<p>
Carbohydrates &#8211; Take in about 60 to 100 grams of carbohydrates to help the body refuel. Your body is most efficient at rebuilding its carbohydrate stores immediately after a workout. It&#8217;s important to take advantage of this period.</p>

A few common examples of healthy carbs to take after a workout include juices, fruits, and sports drinks. Examples of protein foods include milk, eggs, poultry, fish, meat, or soy products. Flavored yogurt is an excellent example of a post-workout snack. It contains carbs, protein and calcium all in one.

<p>
Post-Workout Meal &#8211; About one hour after your workout, take in a high quality source of protein (as in the examples above) and a good supply of carbohydrates such as grains, potatoes, cereals, etc. At this time, the body has settled down from the stress of the workout and is looking to rebuild.
</p>
<p>
If you&#8217;re looking to get as much from your workouts as you possibly can, you can see that post-workout nutrition is critical. By supplying an ample amount of raw materials right after you&#8217;re done, you will be preventing the body from breaking itself down in order to recover. This means more results from the effort you put into your workouts!</p>
